As mass media narratives explode with sensationalism, so our understanding of the individuals involved in conflict diminishes. The Syren Protocols is my attempt to make sense of the war in Ukraine, the creeping imposition of ideologies and the complex structures of feeling that proliferate as a result.
It is an unapologetically post-modern take on a dystopian scenario crafted in such a way as to exploit the creative opportunities afforded by AI and Generative Audio.
And finally, it is a labour of love, an indulgence and a form of personal escape.
The Syren Protocols is an audio-visual novel. Non-linear in its overall narrative, the story is presented according to a systematic structure consisting of sixteen pre-defined chapters and scenes.
