Phoebe Bridgers' music had been popping up on my Apple suggestions for a while. I wanted to like it, but early explorations had not proven fruitful.
Driving home after an early morning walk "I Know The End" began to play and strangely, I took notice. The startling lyrics and beautiful composition forced me to pull the car off the road to sit still.
As I listened, I felt a certain synergy with the sense of loss, bewilderment and torment in the song. When all around me was seemingly being being lost - lives, memories, freedoms, "I Know The End" soon became a daily anthem for the time I was living through.
Swimming, losing direction, gulping breaths and a fear of drowning. All metaphorical reactions to the pandemic.
This short video is a pastiche of emotions.
An attempt to understand and to reconnect with my creativity.
And to hope
